We are based in a terraced house in Sandbrook Road so, for your child, it feels like they are going round to a friend’s to play – a real home from home loving environment. We are parent-led so, although qualified staff look after your child, you will be able to get involved in the way the playgroup is run.
Sandbrook Community Playgroup was established in 1976 and was graded ‘Good’ in its last Ofsted report. We run two sessions a day with a maximum of 19 children in each session. The morning session is from 9am until midday and the afternoon session is from 1pm until 4pm. In addition children can also stay for Lunch Club from midday until 1pm, which gives you a great deal of flexibility in the way that you use your sessions. For example your child could attend for four or five full days a week, could attend for two and a half days or for five mornings. There are lots of variations.
We take children from two and a quarter until they start school. Fifteen hours are FREE for children from the term after their third birthday because they will receive government funding. From September 2017 some parents will be entitled to access 30 hours of funded hours. For younger children we charge just £16.50 a session if they are two or £12 a session if they are three or four. Lunch Club is an additional £5.50 a day for two-year-olds and £4 a day for three and four-year-olds.
Some two year olds may also be entitled to a funded place. If you are on a low income you can find out more via the Hackney Learning Trust.
We also offer a pick-up service from Betty Layward Primary School Nursery and Grazebrook School Nursery so that children can attend both settings.
